Perfect and exactly as advertised

We enjoyed the cottage and felt very at home here. The location is great and we were glad we selected Mahone Bay over Lunenburg which is larger and more touristy. Chris and Wenda made us feel welcome and communication was perfect. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great location!

We had a very nice week at Chris’ cottage. The location was perfect to walk to shops and restaurants in Mahone Bay and just a short drive to Lunenburg and many beaches. The cottage was well appointed a provided all that we needed.

Great location for exploring the coast!

We liked the house and its proximity/walking distance to much of what Mahone Bay has to offer. Great central location to explore up and down the coast. Disappointed that there was no water view from the house, but the views are beautiful throughout the area. (It is across from a working/business harbor, and the upstairs view is blocked by trees.)

Comfy cottage on the bay
I see that Mahone Bay made the Spring 2017 issue of Lonely Planet, and this is the perfect place to stay in a perfect bayside cottage: 19th century on the outside, 21st on the inside. It’s on Main Street, right across from the marina, with an easy walk to downtown. Perfect for day trips to Lunenburg, Digby Neck and Keji Nat’l Park.

Perfect Mahone Bay Getaway

The Cottage on Main was the perfect blend of location, style and functionality. A funky yellow character cottage on the waterfront, decorated with mid-century and 19th century flair. Great kitchen, big bathroom, turquoise painted bedroom floor, Italian reading lamps - it's all there!! And situated in beautiful Mahone Bay. What more could you want! We loved it and would highly recommend.

The cutest house on main street

Mahone Bay is known for their colorful houses and this is right in line and is so well thought out and equipped that I can't imagine any place better to stay. The location - right across the marina offers lots to see (great view of the three churches) and with in a short walking distance from everything you need - coffee, grocery, restaurants, shops, ice cream. The house is amazing - high end appliances and finishes. Owner was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay in this magical area.

Marvellous cottage in Mahone Bay
Exactly what we wanted - Chris is a very helpful owner, and this is a charming, comfortable cottage. The house is well appointed and stylish, perfect for cozy evenings. It is also a short walk along the bay to shopping & great food when you want to dine out. This is also a great location for touring the local area, whether you are planning a sail in the Lunenberg Harbour, to kayak in Cape LaHave, or photo shoots at Peggy’s Cove.

Lovely cottage in beautiful Mahone Bay!
Often, when you book things online, things are not as they appear. This is not the case with this charming cottage – it was exactly as advertised. Right on Main Street in beautiful Mahone Bay looking out over the marina, with all the necessities you would need for a vacation away. The owner, Chris, was very accessible and even popped in to ensure we had everything we needed and offered some touring advice. The cottage is an easy walk to great restaurants and shops. If my partner and I ever find ourselves in Nova Scotia again, we would definitely book this charming yellow cottage! Oh and we travel everywhere with our two small dogs and they loved it too!

A relaxing Paradise
Having to fly around half the world and a bit from Dubai, this was a perfect retreat for our small German / Canadian family. The house offers from the master bedroom in the 1st floor and the porch in front of the main room a magnificent view over the Bay & the incoming ships. It has a bedroom (15 sqm) with a queen-size bed, a small bathroom with shower, a 2nd smaller bedroom, a living/dining room (35 sqm) with table, chairs, kitchenette, an armchair and a couch. The little kitchen is fully furnished (coffee maker, microwave, cooker, dishes, coffeemaker, fridge, toaster etc) and we were provide with white & fresh towels and bed linen. You have free WLAN and TV, the latter in all types of languages. There are traditional deck chairs and a little table right in front of your living room window - your own private outdoor space. You’re right in the middle of village, but I could also do a morning run towards the rim of the village daily in no time. Small restaurants, the Canadian national coffee maker Tim Horton and a supermarket are in walking distance, the car park right behind the house. Chris the owner came by a couple of times to see if everything was ok, indeed a it was brilliant, relaxing and we hope to come back maybe next yet. Thank you again for a great time in Mahone Bay

Perfect Gem
We just spent two weeks in this little gem on the main drag in Mahone Bay. We have booked it again for next year. We go to this area specifically for the cycling. Lots of paved secondary roads with little traffic, respectful drivers and beautiful scenery. This house and this location fit in perfectly. The house is cozy and clean. There is a secure place to store bikes or other gear. A BBQ is also provided. We loved having coffee in the morning, or an after ride drink sitting on the front deck, watching and interacting with passers by.

Great stay at Cottage on Main Mahone Bay
My Husband and I arrived at the Cottage on Main with our 2 small poodles on Sept 15/14. We stayed a month, and had a wonderful time. The Cottage is very quaint, and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch taking in all the action. Chris, the Owner is readily available, and accommodating. The weather was warm, as it usually is this time of year. The Location is very convenient, same street as shops and restaurants. It is a very short drive to Lunenburg. You will want to get up early to take in the spectacular sunrise across the street at the wharf. The first week of October was the famous Scarecrow Festival, and event not to be missed. The people of Mahone Bay are very friendly, pet friendly, and there are a couple of restaurants that have excellent food, and you can sit outside with your pets. We would stay there again.
